Having a general chit-chat with my followers :)

Hey there guys,
I haven't really done a proper post where I just babble, and I like them posts really 'cos they make every other post make sense.. (or so I think!).
So I've been a really busy girl.. I've been gardening! I really, really adore gardening. Well once the garden's been a tad sorted out, I love potting the flowers and watering the flowers - general potting around the garden looking after things! :) (I'm a nurturer!) But I totally dislike weeds, seriously, why do they have to come up amongst my nice flowers and make the bed look horrible? Damn you weeds! (Luckily for me you'll die on my gravel as i've got some killer down! ;)).
But now my garden has got sorted out, I feel I can relax in it! The sun has made an appearance over the last week and it's been b-e-a-utiful! Now my garden is a south facing, so it has sun on it practically ALL day so it's very lovely!
I also tried to encourage Freddie to come outside with me, but he seems a tad scared of it all! He'll only crawl out if both me and Chris are out there gardening but otherwise he'll sit on the backdoor mat and watch me! (It's so cute! I'll have to take a pic!). To encourage him furthur I sat him on a blanket on the grass and he didn't seem to like it too much, as he kept looking around and frowning..(there were birds squawking!) so eventually we brought him in which was like 'oh, okay!' - But he hasn't really ever been out there only when he was a few months old!

Also, I don't know what to make of this 'new' blogger - I was kinda expecting a major change for some reason and only got a new post up, which in a way became disappointing! Was kinda expecting the layout on the blog to be different.. or something..
I can't really think what else I've been doing, alot of what's going on at the moment is in preparation for what's going to happen in the future. I'm just feeling really happy at the moment! I am deffo a mood by weather girl - (If sunny, happy, if raining, miserable!)

Presents..

So, last week it was Mothers Day! It was also Freddie's 1st Birthday - kind've a no brainer, what's more important!
Now i've got round to the point where I'm going to show you what I got for my presents :) I love my little boy.. (though I'm sure that Daddy did it!)
I got a card, box of Thorntons Chocolates (so yummy!), Transformers Dark of the Moon DVD - (absolutely amaaaazing film!) & Christina Perri's album :)

'Up In The Air' & 'The Social Network'

I have been renting DVD's from LoveFilm for a couple of years now - it's so handy especially for boring weekends where there's nothing on. I wanted to write almost a little review of what I thought of these titles.
'Up in the Air'
Normally I love any film with George Clooney in, they have a decent plot and some nice eye-candy. Much to my disappointment this film was horrible! I didn't really like it at all, I got bored and my mind was so easily distracted during the time it was playing.
It was very unimaginative and seemed to have very little plot - a waste of filming, if you ask myself. Seemed to be just about a bloke who can't settle and has lots of money. He went by plane everywhere and had a lovely job of firing people within the company, and mentored a girl 'Natalie'. They formed a friendship.
He also finds a woman who at first they meet in various places when they're free and have no-strings-attached sex, but he ends up falling in love with her and makes his way to her home to declare his love; and her husband and children are at the address. (heartache!)
Rating: 2/5*
Again? Nope, I wouldn't watch it again!
'The Social Network'
I really enjoyed this film, it wasn't anything like I originally thought it would be like. It was really gripping and interesting. It was the court case of the founding and beginnings of 'Facebook' - was really great! Real, life stories are also the best, 'cos you get the real emotions, even thought they're not the actual people. It's a story of betrayal, and trust.
Personally I think it's a only see once film as I feel it wouldn't be as gripping the second time as you already know beyond the tense scenes.
Rating: 4.5/5*
Again? Maybe if it was like in 2yrs time - otherwise it wouldn't be as gripping.
Read the Review: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1285016/ (I'm impressed it came out on my wedding day!)

Hearing Disaster!

For anyone who doesn't know that I'm severely deaf.. I'm severely deaf!
My left hearing aid is broken, I took it out last night and the connecting of the 'elbow' and tube has snapped off and now it doesn't work. *boohoo* Luckily I rang up Audiology and they said they could fix it this afternoon, so yay!

Here's some History:
When I was small my mum always thought there was something wrong with my hearing, though the tests they done when I was a baby wasn't anything like they are now; so it went undetected. So when I first joined school, the teachers started to notice that I was falling behind and not answering questions correctly, simply 'cos I couldn't hear them.
When I was 6, I had a real bad case of chickenpox, and was off school for a month. I had them in my ears which made my hearing worsen still. I recieved my first hearing aids when I was 7.

I wouldn't be anything like I am today without my hearing aids, they're a massive part of my life and have helped me every step of the way of my growth and learning. Also, I wouldn't be anywhere without the constant support of my family and my amazing Teachers of the Deaf, Julie and Susie. (They were my godsends in school!). I'm also very close to Julie, and I still see her now for meet ups.
Although, I would be lying if I said that if I could have 'normal' hearing, I would.. I'd wave that magic wand and wouldn't have hearing aids. But I'm here and alive, I've lived with it for nearly 21 years and hope to be for at least another 21 years.

Parents' Anniversary

Today it's my parents wedding anniversary - been married 16 years today :)
So pleased and happy that they're still very much in love.

Hope my marriage last just as long :) Love you mum & dad! X

Freddo's Birthday Cake

So, I announced I was going to make Freds Birthday Cake for Sunday!
I've nearly completed it, but haven't take photo's of it yet - only the preparations! I have to say, I'm so proud of myself to be honest, it's been so easy and like a dreamboat to create - ooh, I love baking!
The Party is "ZingZillas" theme - As he loves them! So am doing his favourite Character "Zak". (As seen above.)
I was hoping to get the sponge to be purple (on the inside, but it's green!) - These were so easy to get out the tin, glad I greased them more than I originally was going to!
I marked out with paper which parts needed cutting out, as you can see below I have cut the sections out for "Zak's" face.
(I apologise that my kitchen is untidy (it's not now, I'd like to point out - have cleaned up since baking.) - I've been baking all day!) This is me sticking the cut parts together.
This is my outcome (before butter icing it the right colours). I'm aware it doesn't look particularly fabulous, but the shapes are cut right and I'm positive it'll look exactly like "Zak" when finished. I'm using butter icing, dyed the correct colours and smarties for eyes.

Freddie Birthday Prep.

I actually can't get my head around the fact that Freddie's Birthday is on Sunday! Really doesn't feel like a year already!.. It has all gone too quick! I remember all from when he was tiny, I do miss them days, but I also love that he can get around and is such a cheeky monkey! :)

I have set myself such a challenge to make Freddie's birthday cake! I was originally going to buy one, but where's the fun in that... it'd all be way too easy! *sigh* haha, but I am going to do a Zak from "ZingZillas". Going to bake the sponge tomorrow, and go from there me thinks..
I'm just so grateful that Chris is off Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week; it's going to help me no end! Need every finger on board to be able to pull this party off..

I've got some party games! (Pass the parcel & musical chairs - my brother asked for them! (he's 15 :p)) Woo, just need some music to go with and we're away. Ahh, too excited! We'll have to wait and see how the preps go, prob give up sometime soon! *hoping not too!*

Television

Now, anyone that knows me half decently, or simply follows me on Twitter (@imzreynolds) knows that I adore my television! (well technically not just mine.. but am pretty much only one that uses it!)
So I have to express my happiness to the fact that there is so many decent programmes on at the moment and coming back on soon! (Hooray!)

I love watching the soaps, they're dramatic and easy to follow - although they can drag and become boring at times, they're great when there's nothing on (you can rely on them bigtime!). However there are a few more that seem to interest me, every night I have something on!

I am liking very much 'Prisoners' Wives' at the moment - tonights the last one! But it's really heartfelt and I get so dragged in by peoples sad, misfortunes on these types of programmes!

Also, 'Homeland' - now, this is a cracker of a programme! I love it! Best thing that's on at the moment. It's so tense, and action-packed, and just sucks me in! So anyone who hasn't seen that should get themselves onto www.channel4.com and watch 4oD - you will not be disappointed!

Another is 'Waterloo Road'. I've always been a Waterloo fan and it's great, I've always wanted to be a teacher so I get right stuck in when a school based programme comes on. Although it's more filled with drama more than anything else, but the issues in this are at best shocking and does show that these problems exist. I love how everyone mucks in to help! So it's another great one - (though has to be said, it's not my favourite series!)

'New Girl' - Hahaha! This is great, makes me laugh like nothing else, love the lads in this and of course, Jess. Everything goes wrong for them bless them! It's great to watch when you're chilling out on your own or with friends etc, always a great pick-me-up! :) (also on 4oD)

'Upstairs Downstairs' - I am a massive sucker to period dramas. Always have been, and always will. I love the feel and mannerisms in them. So this is perfect for a daydreaming Sunday. (always felt like I was in the wrong century!) I've watched both series religiously and not missed a single episode on air for this. (shows my love!)

Now for my special upcomings - 'Scott and Bailey' - Adore this, watched it last series and fell in love with the dectectives! It's sexy, action-filled, tense and oh, so dramatic. love it! I'll be waiting for that when it comes back on...

'Silent Witness' - This is my whole world when it comes on the telly! I have a massive crush on Harry Cunningham! (So, hot!) Love the spookiness, and tension (you may realise I like tension filled programmes!) and I find the post mortoms really interesting! It's more enjoyable when theres a couple of you ploting what the end is through the programme..(I do this alot!)

So yeah theres alot i'm looking forward too, and currently am enjoying!

Blog name change!

I know i've had it 'life in a whirl' since 2009, or whenever I started this blog.
Just I felt it's time for something new, and to be honest, think it describes me best - (I'm a massive fan of daydreaming!!)
So please forgive me, and hope it doesn't change anyone from reading it :) I still love my page reviews and comments!
